All changes and improvements to Currency Converter, newest first. Each entry shows the version, the deployment date and time, and whether it is a new feature or a fix.

v1.0 Latest version Feature 2026-10-12 07:34

Out of beta — version 1.0. The app leaves beta and drops the beta badge. Every sub-page now shows the suite favicon, and cookie use follows a GDPR consent banner: non-essential cookies are only set after you choose “Accept”, while “Decline” keeps everything session-only. The strictly-necessary consent cookie remembers your choice.

v0.7 Fix 2026-10-11 10:06

Fixes the From and To dropdowns: they were drawn behind the chart panel, so an open currency list could be hidden by the graph. The dropdown now always appears on top of the panels below it.

v0.6 Fix 2026-10-11 10:02

Fixes the crypto conversion direction — each coin's price was quoted the wrong way round, so amounts and the 30-day chart showed values of the wrong order of magnitude (for example hundreds of thousands of BTC per euro). Bitcoin and the other coins, and the USDT/USDC stablecoins, now convert correctly. This release also adds a backup rate source: if frankfurter.app (fiat) or Binance (crypto) is unavailable, the app rebuilds the same 30-day history from the public currency-api dataset instead of showing an error, and notes that a backup source was used.

v0.5 Feature 2026-10-11 09:49

The converter now also handles cryptocurrencies. A new Cryptocurrencies section in the From and To dropdowns adds the 15 most important coins — Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether, USDC, BNB, Solana, XRP, Dogecoin, Cardano, TRON, Avalanche, Chainlink, Polkadot, Litecoin and Stellar — alongside the 30 fiat currencies. Fiat and crypto mix freely (EUR to BTC, BTC to USD, …), the rate and the 30-day chart cover coins like any other currency, and crypto prices come from the public Binance API.

v0.4 Feature 2026-10-11 09:36

The From and To currency dropdowns now have a search box. Start typing a currency code or name to filter the list and jump straight to the right currency, press Enter to toggle the highlighted match, and use the arrow keys to move the highlight.

v0.3 Fix 2026-10-11 09:31

Switched the exchange-rate data source to the current API endpoint (api.frankfurter.dev/v1). The former host now redirects to it, and browsers block that cross-origin redirect, which could previously show “Could not load the exchange rates”.

v0.2 Feature 2026-10-11 09:15

First beta release of Currency Converter. Convert an amount between 30 currencies using the latest European Central Bank reference rates, with multi-select From and To dropdowns to compare several currencies at once and a swap button to flip the direction. The result updates instantly and shows the exact rate for every pair. A 30-day chart plots one coloured line per selected currency against the primary From currency, adds a dashed line for the converted amount on a second axis, and can overlay a selectable trendline. The data can be exported as CSV, JSON, Markdown, SVG or PNG. Everything runs in your browser; the amount and the selections are never stored on a server.
